Currently Wearing: Early 2019

2019 came with a bit of a style shift in my wardrobe. Lately i’ve been gravitating toward more of a high-street style look. Let me show you what types of pieces I’m talking about…

My style preference with blazers are one of the two, oversized or longline. In my opinion, blazers are such a power move - it really just instantly gives you a powerful look and that's what I love about them. Spring '19 Prediction: blazers & "suiting" are going to remain as a powerful force in fashion this Spring. Here are quite a few styles that I'm currently wearing:

Oversized & Plaid

Like I said above, oversized blazers are a huge love of mine. I like to call this "frumpy chic" ;) I purchased this beautiful and definitely oversized blazer in the bottom right picture for a whopping TEN dollars on sale at H&M. Talk about affordable fashion. I have actually worn this exact blazer for two consistent winter seasons now; last season when all the hype was plaid print and this season with the power suit movement. The photo on the left shows me in a sleeveless plaid blazer from Zara, this gave me all the Chanel vibes so I had to pick this up. This blazer vest works with the same things as a normal blazer would - just better for this San Diego heat!

I love wearing this with cropped and raw hem jeans or high wasited skirts/shors and booties. Again, this is definitely a staple in my wardrobe and blazers have proven to be such a timeless piece in my opinion!

longline

A good example of longline blazers is this one from Lulus. Longline blazers are such a classy piece and definitely something I suggest everyone to invest in! This one is affordable and such nice quality inside and out. It's thick, cinches the waist, and freaking beautiful. Beige is my favorite color to wear right now, and I cannot wait to wear this with trousers/distressed denim, or maybe even mom shorts.

I would wear this with distressed jeans and black heels for a high fashion look. If you want to dress it down a bit, go with black booties - here I have some western inspired black booties from Dolce Vita. I’d also wear this with mom shorts, a graphic tee, and booties for a more casual look.

patterned

Just like with the beige blazer, this is the same thing but even better because it's patterned. And who doesnt love a good pattern that sets you apart from the crowd? I love this plaid pattern because I don’t have any plaid that incorporates the color yellow. This is such a chic and high street fashion style in my opinion. It also kind of reminds me of New York fashion - and I think thats why I'm so drawn to it! This is another high-quality piece from Lulus!

Patterned Blazer (wearing a size XS)

Patterned blazers are so easy to throw on and make a monochromatic look pop. For example, if you’re like me and accidentally wear black all the time, this is a life saver.

two piece set

Now blazer/shorts sets have to be my all time favorite right now. I just think they go together so flawlessly and effortlessly. This definitely gives off the "off duty model: vibe and I am all here for it. I see this becoming a HUGE trend in the coming months - and especially with spring right around the corner. This set is going to be perfect for the colorful spring time - and this coral is supposed to be ALL the buzz this season.

These hats have been literally everywhere. I have been eyeing the Lack of Color hats for I kid you not 6 months. I actually never thought I'd give in to buying an $100+ hat, but let me tell you, it was worth it. They seriously dress up and make any look much more elevated and trendy. I own two and have a hard time not wearing the hat with all of my looks. Another reason I love them is because they give me all the western vibes that I'm loving right now. So get ready for an overflow of Lack of Color hats, Instagram.

With literally everything. Seriously, everything.

So personally I have never been a fan of overly distressed denim jeans. It's never really been my style, but I have recently found a pair that changed the game for me. I never knew that a pair of distressed denim could fit SO well. I think I'm clearly having a revelation of investing in my clothes rtather than buying from fast fashion stores. These jeans are incredible and ltierally fit me like a glove. I have created so many cute looks with these and can't wait to bring in this piece to my daily wardrobe.

It's no secret that graphic tees have been in style for a long time now. I'm just figuring out how to work them in to my style lately. I've been going to thrift stores and even Buffalo Exchange to find my graphic tees for cheap. If you want to invest, however, my favorite brand is Thrills. I got this one at Princess Polly and I'm obsessed with it. It feels like such good quality as well, and not raggy like other thrift store ones!

Wear this with distressed denim or trousers, or over long sleeves to create an edgy look. Dress this up with leather, a skirt, a heel, etc. I would style graphic tees casually with any kind of denim and white platform sneakers.
